I was raised in Lake Forest, IL but spent most of my adult life living in Jackson Hole, WY. I moved back to Chicago area in 2001.
My passion for travel and adventure started when I was very
young. My family owned a sugar plantation inn on Nevis, in the Caribbean, where we spent several weeks a year. Nevis, back then, was a very 3rd world island and difficult to get to. I loved everything about it….the adventure in getting there, the thrill of being there, and the passion and happiness of its people. Daily life on the island was so completely different from my Lake Forest life. My father happened to be in the travel business (owned Lake Forest Travel with Lydia Scuderi) so each time we traveled to Nevis we would stop at a different island to scope small, unique hotels. I was fortunate to have explored many Caribbean islands, every one being so different from each other.
I inherited my father’s love of travel, his sense of adventure and his desire to meet people from all over the world and experience a variety of cultures. Although I love to sell the world, my favorite kind of travel is “off the beaten path”. Throw in hiking and biking and I am there!
Some of my favorites trips…. Walking Safari with the Hadza tribe (hunter-gatherers) in Tanzania, Hiking Mt Toubkal, Morocco and the Dolomites in Italy, Kayaking down the Baja Peninsula and Exploring the Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand.
On my radar….India, Papua New Guinea, Patagonia, Nepal.
